The Culinary Institute of America at Copia, at 500 1st Street in Napa's Oxbow District, is the CIA's public campus: not a degree program, but a gathering place where anyone can cook, taste, and learn. The Hestan Teaching Kitchen runs hands-on cooking and beverage classes year-round, from single-session skills classes like bread baking and grilling to multi-day Boot Camps, with the fall calendar leaning into Mediterranean mezze, farm-to-table bistro cooking, and cheese and wine pairings.
Eating well is built in. The Grove serves seasonal dishes prepared by CIA chefs, the Lunch Box covers the casual end, and the Wine Bar offers self-serve automated tastings of local and international wines. A culinary museum, a retail store, and regular tasting events like the Quench at Copia series round out the visit.
The campus is open daily, generally 10:30 to 5:30 on Mondays and Tuesdays, 10:30 to 9 Wednesday through Saturday, and 10:30 to 7 on Sundays, with the restaurant and wine bar keeping the later evening hours. The school notes that more than 90 percent of CIA students receive scholarships and financial aid, and Copia's classes and dining help support that mission.
